Behavioral Health Specialist

***$1,500.00 SIGNING BONUS***


POSITION DUTIES

-  Provides support and assistance to meet member needs including helping with ADLS (activity of daily living) as needed.

-  Responds to psychiatric codes and intervenes pro-actively using de-escalation techniques (training provided by TGC) including the least restrictive interventions appropriate for the situation.

-  Use of recovery-oriented, person-first language in all interactions, with a strong understanding and ability to demonstrate excellence in customer service.

-  Conducts and documents group classes to promote skill building or education.

-  Completes all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

-  Monitors and reports behavior of members to the treatment team.

-  Keeps unit safe, clean and comfortable for both members and staff.

-  Works with the unit for compliance of safety issues and infection control.

-  Works well under pressure, and able to work well with high acuity members and effectively de-escalate situation when needed.

-  Collect and report member vital signs, height, and weight and meal percentages.

-  Electronically document the status of each member every 15 minutes.

-  Ensure compliance and adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and/or department.

-  Participate in Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement Processes of the agency.

-  Complete all TGC required trainings on time.

-  Maintains a high level of professionalism while performing job functions.

-  Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn.

-  This position is 100% onsite, in the state of Arizona.

-  This position is categorized as essential staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

-  Must be at least 21 years of age

-  High School Diploma or GED

-  Possess or ability to obtain an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

-  Reliability and schedule flexibility

-  Valid AZ driver's license

Preferred:

-  One year of experience working in behavioral health, education, human services or caregiving
