POSITION SUMMARY

Provide therapeutic services to children and families.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1.  Provides individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy services to children and families.

2.  Conducts routine and periodic assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning.

3.  Participates in case consultation and makes appropriate referrals.

4.  Facilitates Child and Family Teams.  Monitors the progress of the client and family toward their goals.

5.  Manages a caseload size consistent with the acuity of the assigned cases.

6.  Assists the family in creating a crisis/safety plan.

7.  Participates in peer review activities, including periodic medical chart reviews.

8.  Participates in the development and monitoring of a Behavioral Health Service Plan (BHSP).

9.  Individual and Group Psychotherapy

10.  Assessment, Diagnosis and treatment planning

11.  Case Management and resource procurement

12.  Crisis intervention and safety planning

13.  Family Support and Psycho-educational Services

14.  Personal Care and Life Skills to children/families

15.  Meet and sustain productivity standards

16.  Assists client/families in finding necessary resources other than covered services to meet basic needs.

17.  Communicates and co-ordinates client care with family members, behavioral and medical health providers and community resources.

18.  Assesses the progress and level of functioning of the family.

19.  Provides Psycho-educational Services and Family Support services.

20.  Provides Life Skills Training and/or therapeutic interventions as needed per job assignment.

21.  Advocates for the development of needed services.

22.  Manages caseload and completes required documentation in compliance with agency standards.

23.  Provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

24.  Participates in the Quality Improvement processes in the Clinic when selected for QI committees.

25.  This employee must work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.  The employee shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.

26.  Performs other duties as assigned. 

27.  Complete all required training according to TGC.

28.  Willingness to learn.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Required:   

  •  Master's degree in a behavioral health related field
  •  Valid AZ drivers license.
  •   Ability to obtain Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  •  21 years or older

Preferred: 

  •  One year of direct clinical experience in Psychotherapy.
  •  Prior experience working with children and families.
  •  Experience working with children with complex emotional needs
  •  Knowledge of available community resources.
  •  Understanding of the DBHS Child and Family Team, Behavioral Health Service Plan, and Strengths, Needs, and Cultural Discovery Processes.
