POSITION SUMMARY
The primary functions of this position are to ensure that (a) all meals are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with food quality and nutrition requirements and standards, (b) kitchen operations are conducted in an efficient, sanitary, and conscientious manner while maintaining a safe and clean environment and (c) assistance is provided to the Kitchen Manager to manage and coordinate meal preparation for an inpatient 24/7 healthcare facility serving in excess of 4,000 meals per month.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervising the daily activities of cooks
Assist with inventory, ordering, stocking
Ensure adherence to food safety standards including storage and stock rotation
Prepare and serve meals for patients and staff
Assist with menu planning
Guides and participates in the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils, hoods, floors and work surfaces
Assist with training of other cooks
Ensure all food preparation and kitchen is cleaned and ready for next shift
Complete all TGC required trainings
Able to effectively interact with staff and customers
Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Required:
Current food management certification or obtainable within 30 days of hire
Must possess or be able to obtain a State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Able to correctly use and read thermometer
Minimum two (2) year experience in full service or institutional food service environment, preferably with high volume
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of pertinent food service and sanitation regulations
